What is The Remote Path?
The Remote Path is a candidate-side placement service founded by Obioma Okorie. We help English-proficient professionals in Legal, IT, and Healthcare pursue remote opportunities with US and European employers.
How is this different from applying for jobs myself?
Instead of spending months submitting applications through overcrowded job boards and receiving little to no response, we take a completely different approach.
First, we update your candidate profile to make it genuinely shortlist‑worthy. We identify the strongest aspects of your experience, strengthen your résumé, and position you for the roles where you are most competitive.
Then, we bypass the job boards entirely. Where there is a relevant fit, we send your profile directly to employers rather than relying on automated application systems where you are one of hundreds or thousands of applicants.
Once you are shortlisted, we prepare you for the specific interview. Having spent years interviewing candidates from the employer side, we understand exactly what interviewers are looking for – beyond what is written on a résumé. We help you present your experience, answer questions effectively, and communicate your value with confidence.
In essence, candidates who sign up with The Remote Path typically get hired within 1–2 months, rather than spending months applying and hearing nothing back from recruiters.
Is there an upfront fee?
No. There is no upfront fee. A placement fee becomes payable only after you have accepted an employment offer and started working.
Who employs me?
The hiring company. The Remote Path does not employ candidates or process payroll. You receive your employment contract and salary directly from the employer.
How does interview preparation work?
When you are shortlisted, we prepare you specifically for that role and interview. Preparation focuses on what the employer is likely looking for, how to present your experience, and how to communicate your value effectively.
How much is the placement fee?
The placement fee is discussed on a case-by-case basis after the initial intake call. Full terms are set out in the formal Candidate Placement Agreement provided before the placement process begins.
When is the fee payable?
Only after you have accepted a job offer and started working. We don't charge any fees upfront.
How is the fee paid?
The placement fee is paid in instalments during the first three months of employment rather than as a single lump sum. Exact payment terms are outlined in the Candidate Placement Agreement.
What happens if I find a job independently?
A job secured entirely independently, without involvement from The Remote Path, is not subject to the placement fee.
Do I need to be a US or European citizen or resident?
Not necessarily. Many of the opportunities we work with are open to qualified candidates located outside the US and Europe, depending on the employer and the requirements of the role.
What English level do I need?
Professional working proficiency is generally required, as candidates need to communicate effectively with US or European employers, clients, and colleagues.
Do I need a degree?
Not always. Requirements vary by role. Relevant professional experience, qualifications, and demonstrable skills are all considered.
What equipment do I need?
You should have a reliable computer, stable internet connection, and a quiet, professional environment suitable for remote work.
What time zone do I need to work in?
This depends on the role. Many positions require some alignment with US or EU business hours.
How long does the process usually take?
Timelines vary depending on your background, the roles being targeted, employer demand, and market conditions. Some candidates may progress to interviews within weeks of starting, while others may take longer.
Can I still apply to jobs on my own while working with The Remote Path?
Yes. You remain free to apply independently. Only roles secured through The Remote Path’s involvement are subject to the placement fee.
What types of roles do you typically work with?
We focus on remote opportunities across Legal, IT, and Healthcare, spanning support, operational, specialist, and administrative functions. The exact roles depend on your background, experience, and professional strengths.
Do you guarantee a job?
No. The Remote Path does not guarantee employment or a specific salary. Hiring decisions are made solely by the employer.
Will you submit applications on my behalf?
Yes. Where there is a strong fit, we put your profile forward directly to relevant employers and may also submit targeted applications on your behalf.
Will I receive individual attention?
Yes. We intentionally keep the number of active candidates limited so that each person receives focused profile development, targeted employer matching, and interview preparation.
What happens after I am shortlisted?
We provide targeted interview preparation for that specific opportunity to help you convert the shortlist into an offer.
Why don't you just use job boards?
Job boards are useful, but strong candidates can easily become one application among hundreds. Where there is a strong match, we aim to take the candidate directly to the employer rather than relying solely on crowded application channels.
